We would like to respond to the email sent out to the parent body Feb 2, 2022 from the School Administration and Brenda LaPointe from the Winnipeg School Division. Numerous emotions have cycled through, and we wanted to respond as a collective and in a thoughtful way.
We started the year with an extremely strong and capable council. As the year progressed, our ability to do the activities we have become accustomed to have been restricted. We have been transparent and have communicated clearly with both the school's new Administration and Brenda LaPointe. However, we do not feel that this has been reciprocated. Our effort has not garnered the results we would have liked, and we are disappointed.
We want to stress that our Fundraising Committee has encountered many obstacles with the global pandemic and yet they have always gone above and beyond to serve our school community. The students, the staff and the school have all benefited from their efforts. We fully support and are proud of the work they have done.
As the Parents' Advisory Group Executive, we strive to include a diverse group of parents, representative of our current student body. The PAG serves as a liaison between our families, our community, and our school. We want active parental involvement and strive to enrich our children's educational and community experience. It has been very difficult this year to fulfil this mandate.
At this time, we are unsure of our next steps but want to be clear in our message to you (parents and caregivers of the student body) that we welcome your feedback. We are approachable, collaborative and have always been transparent in our reporting and decision making.
We encourage you to reach out to us and/or the School Admin and/or the School Division to let your views be known on how we are doing, changes that you would like to see and PAG activities/events that you would like to continue.
We will be updating our website as new information becomes available - please check
